Channel 4’s Gogglebox has introduced a new pair to the show, and one has a connection to Margaret Thatcher.
Best friends, Jude and Sherry, made their Gogglebox debut yesterday evening (Friday, October 2).
The friends met in hospital when their sons were born and have been friends for over 50 years.
New pair make Gogglebox debut
The pair grew closer after they were both widowed and have travelled the world together.
Jude and Sherry have visited places like Bangkok, Sri Lanka, and Mexico, but are now enjoying spending some time on their sofa.
Sherry has a connection to the former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, as she worked at Downing Street for 10 years as a cook.
Sherry is a big fan of classic dramas and game shows and the pair often argue while watching BBC’s Race Across The World.
The friends sat down with some chocolate and wine to watch the Celebrity Traitors, Strictly Come Dancing, and a new Netflix competition show Wonka’s The Golden Ticket.
Ahead of their first appearance, Sherry said: “I am really excited to be joining the Gogglebox ‘family’ and finding out how the whole process works and which new programmes we get to watch together.
“We are both very positive people and it is great to be doing something completely new together.
“Jude and I have remained good friends because we like & laugh at the same things, we can share stories about our children & grandchildren, and we both have interesting lives.”
Jude added: “We don’t bicker, we’re not married to each other! Amandaland, Ab Fab and Michael McIntyre all make us laugh.
“Joanna Lumley in her humorous roles is hysterical.
“We do find programmes on any of the royals good viewing with many opinions shouted at the screen.
“We know each other inside out.
“Both love pink and green.
“Both love people, travel, and cooking.
“Both are extremely likely to say exactly what we are thinking!
“And we are grabbing life with both hands. Our age is only a number.”
Alongside Jude and Sherry, the mother and son duo, Sandy and Max, and brothers Steve and Mark have also been added to the series.
